Retrofit Training Assistant

​

We are looking for a training assistant that would provide a support role to a principal trainer, based in city centre Manchester.

 

The ideal candidate would…

 

• have good social and communication skills

• be keen to undertake research and learn new skills

• have some design sensibilities

• be passionate about our environment

 

The current training focus is on domestic retrofit (decarbonising the UK's existing homes) and includes Carbon Literacy (https://carbonliteracy.com). The candidate does not necessarily need to have a construction background but an interest in low carbon buildings and retrofit would be beneficial. They would however need to be passionate about environmental issues and eager to research and learn.

The role would include the following tasks...

 

1. Develop & update a Resource Pack for participants based on the workshop presentation material;

2. General research for new and updated content;

3. Provide face-to-face guidance to a broad range of people;

4. Help to set up a discussions forum on a Wix website platform;

5. Assist with workshop bookings & process completion forms;

6. Investigate funding opportunities and manage applications; and

7. Provide general administration support.

 

general software skills required - with basic training provided for Apple Keynote / Pages / Numbers / Wix

 

There is also the potential to shadow the presenter learning/practicing how to deliver (future) training workshops themselves. The applicant would need to have charismatic qualities to inspire and motivate the participants.

 

Salary and hours are negotiable and the role may extend beyond what is expected above.
