details

This series of 4 full-day workshops is essential for people interested in low-carbon retrofit. In the first workshop we look at why the industry has to change (including the relevance of climate change); then we explain what low-carbon construction entails (the building fabric and the systems and services); and finally we demonstrate how to effectively do this, providing an insight as to what to expect and how to embrace change. The workshops (with a maximum of 15 learners) are “classroom" based with plenty of hands-on activities. There will be 3 x 20 minute multiple choice tests on the final day for the Level 3 Qualification. A Carbon Literacy Certificate may also be awarded following a further submission, and is issued by the Carbon Literacy Project. Please note that all learners will be asked to do a BKSB test before enrolment day. The test will take around 15 minutes and it entails a basic set of Maths and English questions. After completion, the site generates a score which only the learner and our administrator can see, so that they can use this set of scores to determine whether a learner needs help during the course.
