This is an introductory 1-day workshop on why we need to retrofit our existing homes and other buildings.

The main focus will be on how Climate Change and how the construction industry is having to adapt; we explain what low-carbon construction entails; and finally we demonstrate how to effectively do this, providing an insight as to what to expect and how to embrace change.

This workshop will count against the first day of all of our other courses on retrofit and so won't need to be repeated if a course is taken within 6 months.

Following the one day training, and on completion of a form to demonstrate your understanding and personal impact on reducing carbon, you will be awarded a Certificate in Carbon Literacy.

The format of the workshop is predominantly slide/presentation based but we include interactive tasks and games, plus there will be the opportunity to network with the other participants.

We are limiting the number of places to 15 people at the venue and 10 people online.

* On completion of the requirements set by the Carbon Literacy Project, we will cover the cost of the first submission only - if you fail to satisfy the requisite and decide to make any further attempts, you will need to cover the further cost of £10 per submission yourself.

eligibility

There are no restrictions on who can participate in this workshop, however, please be advised that when we commence the full version of our courses (with qualifications), as this could contribute as being the first workshop, there may be some limitation on funded places.
